About Us

Welcome to Nightmare Dates

I had this idea years ago – wouldn’t it be great if people could share their dating disasters as a form of therapy? You know, like one big group hug, but instead of hugging, we’re all just laughing at each other’s misfortunes. That’s how Nightmare Dates was born.

My Story

Let me say I have been building websites for over 20 years and indeed did run some pretty big dating websites at the time, this was before dating apps were a thing, once the dating apps were launched many websites like mine went under, and we could not complete, however owning my own sites has given me a different insight to dating online than most.

This site was conceived because of my dating disasters which could have doubled as sitcom episodes. If you spoke to some of my friends they would say why does it always happen to you? and one of them even cried at one of my dates he was laughing so hard.

There was the woman who had the strangest shape, someone who burst into tears (yep, full-on sobbing), and let’s not forget the Tinder match who tried to charge me for the date – and the price kept going up the more I talked. After a few of these gems, I thought, “Surely I’m not the only one cursed with these catastrophes?” And I was right. So, I figured, why not create a place where we can all share our tragic tales, have a good laugh, and maybe even feel a bit better about our own love lives?

Why We’re Here

Let’s face it, dating is like walking a tightrope, except there’s no safety net, and the tightrope is on fire. Our mission at Nightmare Dates is simple: to be the place you turn to when your date turns into a disaster. We want your awkward moments, your cringe-worthy encounters, and those nights that were so bad, they’re almost impressive. And hey, if nothing else, sharing your story might help someone else feel a little less like they’re failing at this whole dating thing.

Why Share With Us?

You might find the odd blog here and there talking about bad dates, but we’re the mothership of mishaps. Whether you’re 18 or 80, we want to hear your story. We believe that sharing these little nightmares brings us all closer together like a dysfunctional family reunion, but with more laughs and fewer awkward questions about when you’re getting married.

Keeping It Safe and Fun

Now, we get it – not everyone wants their dating disasters broadcast to the world. That’s why we let you use fake names or just your first name. Every story gets the once-over by our team to make sure it’s all in good fun, without crossing any lines. We’re all about keeping this a safe space where you can share your stories without any worry.

Drop Us a Line

We’re always up for a chat – after all, it’s what we’re here for! If you’ve got a story, some feedback, or just fancy saying hello, hit us up on Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube, or shoot us an email at nightmaredates00@gmail.com. All our contact info is on the homepage too, so you can’t miss us.

What’s Next?

We’re just getting started. The plan? To keep growing this little community of ours, one disaster at a time. So if you’ve got a date story that’s too good to keep to yourself, we want to hear it! I’ve been around the dating block a few times – ran a few dating sites back in the day before the apps took over – so believe me when I say, you’re in the right place. Let’s share, laugh, and remind each other that we’re all in this crazy dating game together.
